Twenty-five million, five hundred thousand pounds!

...and yet it looks like a (very bejewelled) soap-on-a-rope??!

The largest flawless, colourless diamond of its type to ever go on sale - 163-carats, no less - has sold at Christie's.

  3. I’m not sure but I think the scandalous Madame Du Barry / Marie Antoinette necklace (even more hideous) cost even more.

    1. Ewww, that is horrid! Of course there have been more expensive jewellery sales ("The Pink Star" sold only this April for £57.3 million!), but this diamond is apparently the largest of its kind ever to go to auction. Jx
